Why are people afraid of the enterprise? ⇒

As someone who specializes in enterprise sales, this article rang really true. I feel that the app/service in the consumer space is what is heralded and spoken about most. Enterprise is seen as hard to break into, but I don't think that is true. We had a brief discussion about it on Twitter (apologize if I didn't use Storify right...first time) but nothing was really settled (can any thing really be "settled" on Twitter???). It is hard to make money in the consumer space...

I just completed my half-way-to-70th year (as it was written on my lovely Tinkerbell cake) and I suppose I should reflect on my life of late.

This past year has been an excellent one. I left the realms of the self-employed and found myself an amazing role at a great little company. I was kinda sad to give up the freedom that being self-employed gave me, but I was (and am) very excited about this opportunity.

On the eve of finalizing a job offer, I was reflecting on how I got each job I've had:

  1. Riptide Technology (can't find it anymore). In via the paper. Lasted a few months. Corporate shake-out.
  2. Orbital Technology. In through a friend. Lasted 5 years. Corporate shake-out.
  3. Epic Data. In via monster.ca. Lasted 5 years. Loved it. Left voluntarily.
  4. Metasoft. In via a recruiter. Lasted a few months. Mistake. Left voluntarily.
  5. ACL. In via a friend. Lasted one year. Position and product...
