Owning My Data ⇒

For a while now, I have become more aware of the "dangers" of not controlling my content. It seems every service/site wants to hold onto your data and not let you do anything with it. Which means if they go away or change their model, you are screwed.

Two things pushed me over the edge. The first was Twitter. Previous to their douchbaggery, I was archiving my tweets with IFTTT & Evernote (another proprietary system…sheesh). The second was this post by Frederico. Combined...

The Rounds @ Ocean Park ⇒

Once every couple of weeks or so, Daniella and I go for an outing in a part of town called Ocean Park. We would park at the library and start our rounds choosing books and DVD's (that she mostly never watched). Sometimes we were lucky to catch story time as well. Then we would go through the path behind the library en route to the shops. Each time we went through this little wooded pathway, I had to pretend I was walking by myself through a dark scary forest and think I had heard a wolf...
