Labour Day ⇒

Many people have asked me how my labour was. All in all I can honestly say it was a wonderful experience giving birth to our daughter.

I had been having Braxton Hicks contractions for many months and closer to the due date, they got stronger and more frequent. By the time I was actually in labour, I felt like I had been in labour for weeks!

2 weeks in ⇒

September 20th, 2005 by

At last a couple of minutes to sit and write an entry. Elise is 2 weeks old today--I can't believe I was pregnant just two weeks ago. So far we are doing great. Elise is a very good and easy baby. She eats very well and we have figured out how to keep her food down (ever seen milk come out a baby's nose and mouth at the same time? Le Fontaine elise!). She just eats so fast she's done in about 10 minutes. I have to make her stop to burp after 3 minutes then she keeps it all in her tummy...

Returning To You Regularly Scheduled Programming ⇒

Christine and I have decided to try out the "BabyWise" system for feeding Elise. Everyone that we know that has tried it has found it highly effective, so today is the first day of her schedule. The goal is that by7-9 weeks, Elise will be sleeping through the night, which would be awesome!!

We are aware that there are critics of the system, but we are trying to keep an open mind. This book makes a lot of sense to us and seems to fit in with our lifestyle quite well.
