It's dusk and Elise, aged 3 and 9 months, wants to build a bird's nest to give the baby birds a cozy place to sleep. It's 9:30, well past her bedtime, but we had just had a neighbourhood party. We tell her to hurry and gather the things she needs to make her nest because it's getting dark. With those huge earnest eyes and an excited voice she looks up at Erin, raises her little hand to the sky and says "Ok. Papa, you keep the sky this colour so I can make the nest!"

Quest For Fitness, Part 439 ⇒

Every few months I say, "I wanna get fit" and then I come up with a great plan. Last time I bought time at the gym and prepaid for a bunch of classes (bootcamp, etc). I even went for a while to the gym once or twice a week and then a class once or twice a week. And...then...I...slowed...down...and...stopped...going. Grrrr.

I was informed today that my main contract was being reduced by 50% until July. At first I was upset, but then I realized all that I could do with my extra time; play with the kids, let the wife go write, play some golf and work out a little.

Hopefully I don't get addicted to the extra non-working time!

A few weeks ago, Daniella was very sick with a stomach bug. About every 48 hours she'd throw up a number of times. For the hours in between she seemed fine. Luckily (well not for me) I was the only other one who got the bug. Poor Erin started his Valentine's Day fishing me out of the bathtub at 6 in the morning because I had fainted. This was a first for me. Anyone who knows me knows of my fear of vomiting but I thought, as I sat there on the edge of the tub, there was not enough mind...
