Scarlet Fever! ⇒

So much for "just a virus" I took Elise back tot he walk-in clinic yesterday afternoon because she was just going downhill. By this time she had stopped drinking anything, her fever persisted, her rash was redder, hadn't eaten in two days. I spoke to my sister who had heard about Elise's symptoms and thought they sounded like when her son had Scarlet Fever so later that day, when she still wasn't improving, I took her to the clinic and the doctor concurred with my sister. We're treating her with antibiotics and waiting for a test result to confirm but the doctor said her symptoms are pretty classic. I feel like I'm on Little House on the Prairie or something.
