Sunny Dee ⇒

Daniella is 5 and a half months old. Of course, I have been meaning to write this entry for 2 weeks now and, Daniella, I apologize that your blog entries are always just a little late! I considered just waiting a couple more weeks and writing it all in the 6 month entry but, this last month with Daniella has been so lovely it warrants it's own entry, even if it is late.

First, an explanation of the title. Almost as soon as she was born, people asked us what we would call her since Daniella is a long name and perhaps target for being shortened. The obvious nickname is Danni but that hasn't happened, although she is sometimes called Danni-Dee. Dee Dee is another one. I think I explained Ya-Ya once before (Elise's word for "the other one") and I still call her that on occasion. But the name that has really stuck for me is Sunny Dee and this is why:

As you can see, she has got the sunniest disposition! She is always smiling and is so happy all the time. She is truly a ray of sunshine straight to my heart when I see her little face, especially in the morning as I am NOT a morning person. It is easier to get up at 6:00 when my two smiling daughters are there to greet me each day.

She is officially mobile now. She rolls like a little piece of tumbleweed. She rolled all the way from our living room to the play room. She is obviously tired of getting left alone in rooms and has found a way to follow Elise and I (not that we intentionally leave her behind but Elise follows me when I leave a room so Daniella ends up alone). She holds her head up really strong now and she is very alert. On several occasions, people have commented that she has wise old eyes. I can't wait to hear what's going on in her head.
