This too shall pass - a belated mother’s day entry ⇒

I never got around to writing an entry on my first mother's day but I was inspired to write the following (kind of poetic that I didn't have time to sit and write it on mother's day eh?)

When I was pregnant a colleague gave me some advice "when things are a little rough just say to yourself 'this too shall pass'" This advice has come in very handy through sleepless nights, biting, too many poopy diapers in a day, not enough poopy diapers in a day...but I have found that one must also take this advice for the all the wonderful gifts babies bring too... the waking up with her in bed beside me after Erin put her there after his morning snuggle, the sleepy milk drunk smiles, the newborn cry, the lying on her back just playing with her feet, first Christmas, first mother's day, first family vacation. These too have passed and I miss them a little. Thank God there is always something new to marvel at and enjoy. Her first year is going by so fast and I am loving every single minute and trying so hard to capture my favourite moments and etch them into my memory.

So to our friends who are new moms and dads, watch carefully and enjoy all the things because these too shall pass.
