Lies, Damn Lies & Statistics ⇒
Today I listened to/watched the leaders debate and I the entire time I was pissed off at Monsieur Duceppe. Why? Because he was at the debate! To this day, I don't understand how the leader of party with representatives in only one (ONE!!) province is invited to a NATIONAL debate? Why are le Bloc there and not the Green party, which at least has the decency to field a candidate in every (or nearly) riding, INCLUDING Québec? It makes absolutely no sense to me, so if anyone else can explain it, I would greatly appreciate it.
Onto the leaders themselves. My favourite leader is still Jack Layton. I think he has the most personality and seems the most "real". I don't, however, like his party, just him. Stephen Harper still appears very wooden to me and I just don't feel that he is very sincere. Paul Martin is definitely not wooden, but he too doesn't feel sincere. But I do like his passion; he definitely believes what he is saying, which is nice.
Don't you wish you could treat the platforms like a buffet? I like the Liberal tax cut, but I like the Conservative tax credit for transit. I like most of the Green platform, but they haven't described how they are going to pay for it. I like a little of this, a little of that....man, how am I supposed to decide.
I typically vote Liberal, but sheesh, have they sure been bad boys lately and I am not sure I want to reward them with my vote.
I wonder what the Communist Party's platform is?
