Perfect Weekend ⇒
Finally, I have some time to get everyone caught up. This past weekend couldn't have been better (well it could have, but I'll get to that later). On Thursday I saw my uncle Graham, whom I had not seen in about 6 years. We went to the Shanghai Bistro, which is an amazing Chinese (duh) restaurant downtown. Then we went to huge gelato store in east Van (I always forget its name). Mmmmmm...gelato.
Friday was our 4th wedding anniversary and we went to the Stone Grill for dinner. It is an interesting place; you have to cook your own food on a super hot stone. Very good food.
Saturday we drove down to the Gorge to see my favourite band, the Dave Matthews Band. If you haven't been there, the Gorge is, without a doubt, the best concert venue in the world. Imagine, if you will, a terraced grass amphitheatre that overlooks the Columbia River canyon. The sun is setting behind the stage and the stars are starting to come out. Dave Matthews and his amazing band is groovin' something fierce. You are lightly tipsy and in the company of 30,000 friendly, groovin' people. After the concert, you walk back to your campsite, grab anothe drink and begin to make some burritos. The next morning you make some amazing omelettes, throw the disc around a little and then head home. Doesn't that sound like heaven??
On Monday, dad managed to get a tee time at Loomis for the afternoon. My game is really starting to come around, but it still can be very frustrating. The front nine was amazing...I shot 6 over! Then the back nine happened. I don't even want to talk about it. Worst. Back nine. Ever. But overall, I still had a good time.
Pretty good weekend, eh? Sheesh, my life sure does suck.
