Before the Inca Trail ⇒

We spent our final non-camping night in Ollantaytambo after a great day of Inca ruin wandering and shopping. The Inca ruins we saw, Pisac and Ollantaytambo, were amazing! Even in the pouring rain. The market at Pisac is THE place to buy all your stuff. I bought a necklace and a new earring (which I have lost...I guess the $2.50 I paid for it didn«t buy quality!!) and Christine got an awesome sweater for only 25 soles (which is $12.50 CDN). We also visited the most amazing ceremic studio. This husband and wife team create the pottery according to the ancient Inca way and the result is outstanding! We were only going to buy some wine glasses, but realized that they wouldn«t match our plates, so we had to buy 6 plates to match! We have yet to figure out how to get them home, as shipping them is too expensive. We are hoping that the airline lets us carry them one. It will work out I am sure. Next up, the Inca Trail!!
