Back to Cusco ⇒

We arrived back in Cusco yesterday with me still feeling under the weather. The 3 hour train and bus ride didn't help! We had hoped that our plane tickets for the Amazon would be waiting for us at our hotel so we could figure out what time we had to leave the next morning, but they were't. D'oh! So off I went in search the elusive tickets. I checked the other Hotel Garcilaso and the GAP hotel that we will be staying at later, but the tickets were't there. I did, however run into a GAP tour leader and he promised to follow up later in the evening. So Christine went off to dinner and I just hung around the hotel room feeling lousy. I did't hear from the GAP guy, so I had to phone the emergency GAP cell phone in Toronto (at $3/minute!!!). He said that the local GAP rep would give me a call. A few minutes later Mandy (from Lima) called. It turns out that they did try to deliver the tickets to the our Tucan hotel, the but the hotel rejected the delivery saying that we were't staying there (we were't at the time, but we were coming back!!). Gotta love Trevor!! It also turns out that although all of our vouchers say that we were supposed to leave today, we are actually supposed to leave tomorrow!!

This works out better for us anyway as it gives me time to recover and gives us a chance to do some laundry and make it out to the final group dinner. Our tickets are being (we hope) to our GAP hotel today and tomorrow we head out to the Amazon!
