Christine Enters “My First Triathlon” ⇒

About 2 years ago Christine decided she wanted to enter a triathlon. The only problem was that she didn't know how to swim...not a stroke. So last January, she finally took swimming lessons and last weekend she pushed, pulled a dragged herself across 400m from one end of Harrison Lake lagoon to the other in 15:38, finishing 208th out of 380 in the swim (ok...not the best swimmer of the bunch but certainly not the worst!) The bike and run went much better and after a 20 km bike ride (48:31) and 5 km run (26:38) she finally crossed the finish line with a total time of 1:30:46 in 161st place.

Our friends Catie and Tod Laverty also competed that day. Catie tied with Christine and Tod finished 147 (1 minute ahead of Christine and Catie). The most notable result fo the day was Catie finishing 3rd overall in the swim. Woohoo! [url=http://www.triathlons.net]http://www.triathlons.net[/url]
