Sunday = GBS ⇒

Sunday afternoon we motored out to Abbotsford to join the rest of the Dencer's in celebrating some birthdays. As there are so many birthdays in short time span, they combine them into one big celebration! It was great to see the whole family in-laws again. Had some good eats, good talk and good times.

Then it was off to the Malkin Bowl for a Great Big Sea concert with Scotty and our friend from San Jose, Jenny (a.k.a. MacPalm). I highly recommend both the venue and the band. I had never been to the Malkin Bowl before, but I will definately be going again. It is a grass ampitheatre with a "natural" slope to it, so that everyone has a clear view of the stage. Very nice. We, of course, were up front dancing up a storm...I mean, how can you not dance to GBS? I just love live music...it really shows you who they are. These guys were having so much fun that at one point Alan couldn't sing at all as he was laughing so hard. I think this completes my GBS quota for the year...twice in 3 months...woo hoo!

As we didn't have time to eat before the concert we headed down Denman to find some food after the concert. Jenn promised us that Maria's had a new place on Denman, and she was right. Mmmmmm...greek food....kalamari....sangria....greek potatoes...dolmathes...spanikopita....much fun was had by all....especially after the owner gave us a free pitcher of Sangria!
