Good And Bad ⇒

The bad? The Canucks lost to Minnisota in game 7 of the Western Conference Semi-finals. But hey, at least we made it to the 2nd round, eh? The best team did win and it wasn't us. We played lousy...lousy goaltending lousy defence, too many penalties, not enough scoring...bah. Oh well, onto golf and ulti season! I also now have a lot of respect for the Minnisota Wild. They have a chance to make it to the Stanley Cup finals! And I am now switching my allegiance to the Ottawa Senators! Go Sens!!!!

The good? We went to an awesome concert last night! It was Tommy Banks conducting the VSO and playing along with a great New Orleans Jazz Sextet. It was neat hearing a full orchestra playing jazz music. It really showed the similarities between them. George Haden is the most unbelievable clarinettist I have ever heard! Benny Goodman watch out!! He could play all style with equal passion and ability. And the drummer...well, that goes down as one of the best drum solos I have ever heard. It even gives Neil Peart's soloing a run for his money! And then there is Tommy Banks, the grandfather of Canadian jazz. His fingers are so light on the keys they hardly seem to touch them.

It is interesting to see older people play jazz...the years just fall right off of them. I love going to listen to jazz...it is so relaxing.

They are playing tonight so if you are interested stop by TicketMaster and pick yourself up some tickets.
