You’ll never guess who I saw at the bar last night! ⇒

I was on my way to YBC last night, when I noticed this guy who looked like Brad May walking in front of me! I'm sure he thought I was following him, but it turns out he was on his way to YBC as well. I went into the bar area as I was early for our reservation and there was a seat right beside him. So of course, I grab it. But I don't want to be like a total dork and start just chatting with him, so I chatted with Rick, the chef at Capone's, a great Jazz restaurant in Yaletown. Brad was chatting with Darren Langdon. Kinda neat to see them up close. Brad wasn't as tall as I thought he would be, although he was one width...starting at the ears! Wouldn't want to meet him in a dark alley.

Several people came up and talked to them and tried to by them a drink (declined as he was just drinking water). They must find that annoying...to be in a conversation and have it interrupted by strangers who want to be your friend. I know it is part of the deal when you are (semi-)famous, but it must still be annoying. He was friendly to everyone and even apologetic about the way they played!

I only fell into conversation with them when I was cheering for New Jersey. I have them in my pool and several of my players scored or assisted that night. Brad mentioned that Langenbrunner is doing well. I never introduced myself...didn't want to be intrusive...and when they left I told them to kick some ass tomorrow (today).

It would have been really cool to actually engage them in conversation, but I would rather it happen naturally.
