Wow, what a weekend! ⇒

That had to be one of the best weekends I have ever had! Scotty, Jenny, Speedy, Christine & I were going to help Christine celebrate her getting a job and her upcoming 30th b-day. But, we could only do that with Dave & Jenny's help. So, it was off to San Jose!

Our flight left YVR at 6PM and we were a little concerned about clearing customs so we got to the airport at 4PM. By 4:29PM we were through customs and immigration. So much for the line up! Thankfully Scotty & Jenny upgraded their seats to first-class; that meant we could spend our time waiting in Alaska Airline's lounge. Let the drinking begin!

We arrived at SJC at about 11PM and were met by our good friends Dave & Jenn. There was much rejoicing. Of course, we were quite thirsty after the flight, so we dug into the rye and 7-up. By 2:30AM, we were done for the evening.

We were served a wonderful waffle & bacon breakfast when we got up at the crack of 11. Then we went for a "hike". It was really a 20 minutes walk to a beer house. Sigh, more beer drinking. Next stop, Kelly O'Brians for a quick bite to it and of course, some more beer. And then finally, the highlight of the evening, Great Big Sea! I will give a more thorough review a little later, but suffice to say, there much drinking, singing and jumping around!

Sunday was a little slower...after another wonderful, leisurely breakfast we did the 17 Mile Drive, which was spectacular, and the cheese shop (sorry, I forget what it was called) in Monterey. Tasted many nice cheeses and even brought some home! Another great dinner with friends and then we nodded off to sleep yet again at about 2:30.

Monday was our slow day. Late breakfast, throw the disc around, play some hearts. Discover that my wife is the Queen Biatche of Hearts! She won both games! We tried to finish of the large tub of rye, but we never quite made it. Flight left at 7PM and we were tucked in bed by midnight. We were a tad tired today at work!! Worth every minute though...thanks Dave, Jenn, Jenn, Scotty and Speedy for a great weekend!
