New Website ⇒

Welcome to our new website!

After Boris' talk on blogging I committed to blogging more, but only on a platform that I controlled, where my data is easily readable convertible.

I wanted either a static site (Octopress, Jekyll) or a flat-file CMS (no database) that understands Markdown. I also wanted one that had a chance of lasting, so I was looking for a paid system with support and an active community. This lead me to Statamic.

To make it easy for Christine to use, I wrote an add-on so she can continue to post from MarsEdit. To make it easy for my add to my (new) link blog, I wrote an Pinboard add-on that pulls all public bookmarks that have been tagged with 'lb' into our blog.

I chose Bootstrap as the framework for my theme (I hate design and don't understand CSS) and have just used their default blog theme to start. I have brought across all my old posts along with their comments (I hope) but if anything is missing, let me know.

I have lots to do still (theme updates, create a photo gallery, update MarsEdit plugin to handle media,) but I'm excited to write more on here.
