Owning My Data - Part III ⇒
Been thinking a lot more about the blogging side of it and I'm not sure going to Scriptogr.am is the right decision. Pros: * posts are stored in Markdown * can write them with any text editor * stored in Dropbox Cons: * only supports a single author so Christine and I (and then Elise and Daniella) can't really have a family blog * have to do HTML/CSS work unless you like their current themes The reason for my rethink is my end goal. My end goal is to just have all my posts in Markdown. I don't really care the steps needed to get there, so if I can figure out how to use MarsEdit to post and have the Markdown stored in the DB automatically, that would suffice. That way I could always get my data if I need to while maintaining the ease of use of Wordpress and MarsEdit for the wife. I found Markdown On Save - Improved and I am going to see if that meets my needs. That + my old posts in Markdown (thanks to Brett) should be good for now. Update: That plugin didn't work, but this one did so all my posts are now stored in the WP database as Markdown so easy to get later.
