The Seven Year Itch ⇒

September 3rd, 2007 by

Dear Erin,

They say that after seven years, a couple can grow a little restless with one another. Even though we often joke that we will be together forever because we are too lazy and can't be bothered to find someone else, the truth is we have lasted this long because our foundation is friendship and our home is built with love. For these seven years we have journeyed together while allowing each other the freedom to be alone when needed. We have grown together and we have grown as individuals and my love for you has grown as well. After all this time, I often reflect on one of the readings from our wedding ceremony:

And stand together yet not too near together: for the pillars of the temple stand apart And the oak tree and the cypress grow not in each other's shadow.

So, here's to the seven year itch and having you there to scratch it!
