Big as a whale? ⇒

I haven't had much to write about this pregnancy, have I? It has been text book so far and I have minimal complaints. I have really bad heartburn but I think I've narrowed down the culprits: garlic and (woe is me) chocolate! As long as I avoid those things and don't eat huge meals, the acid seems to stay where it's supposed to be! The other issue I've been dealing with is pelvic and hip pain. I had this last time too but this time I am dealing with it sooner and have already been to see my chiropractor, Dr. Stephanie Bonn at Yaletown Chiropractic. The pressure is easing off after the teo treatments I've had so far so I am pleased. Of course, it hasn'thelped that after the two treatments, I've been subjected to two very long commutes home on the bus (four hours when it snowed last week and almost three hours yesterday due to an accident at the King George Highway exit.)

I saw my midwife two days ago and I measured 30 cm. I'm supposed to be 1 cm for every week and I am 29 weeks (although, my midwives insist I am 30 weeks already so maybe we are working with different due dates.) The baby's heart rate is fine and my blood pressure was great too. The baby is head down. Guess I'm made for carrying babies (no we aren't having any more after this one!)

I have been feeling very big. Every Monday someone at work says "Wow it looks like you've grown again!" Or people will ask me "you must be due soon" and when I say "two months" the reaction is "oh...OH!" very good for my ego. I had a great complement from my fitness instructor at my Fit 4 Two class the other day. She said I had the cutest belly and couldn't believe it was my second pregnancy. That was very nice to hear as I've been feeling as big as a whale. I am carrying this baby all out the front like a basketball but it is sitting quite low too.
