Another Milestone ⇒

Today marks the beginning of my thirty-twoth year on this planet and as always, forces me to reflect on not only the past year but also on my life in general.

I do believe that I have seen more change this past year, then any other year I can think of. One year ago today we were frustrated with the difficulty of getting pregnant, after trying without success for over a year. Little did we know that in six days, on Christmas Day in fact, we would get the good news. Since then we went through a relatively easy (at least for me!! ;=)) pregnancy, bought a house out in South Surrey and moved out of our beloved city, successfully painted and renovated that house, and introduced most awesomest child, Elise Rayne to the world!

At work, I slowly got comfortable in my new role as a Solutions Manager. This new role caused me to rack up more than 40K air miles flying to such exotic locations as Sheboygan, WI and Wichita, KS. Flying somewhere isn't really exciting for me anymore and I am going to try to limit my travel next year as much as I can as being away from Elise causes me to miss my morning snuggle.

Christine & I only went on one trip this year, to Hawaii, as it proved to be difficult to travel when pregnant and buying a house! We did, however, really enjoy that trip, even though it was much different than our usual style of travel. Hopefully we will start to travel again now that life has stabilized.

So, what will the next year bring? Next year should be a year of firsts for Elise. First laugh, first step (maybe), first words (maybe), first crawling, first solid food, first...you get the picture.

For me the year will bring new challenges at work as my role changes slightly yet again. We are also planning a trip to France in the spring to go visit some friends who are living there and that will be a challenge, traveling with the wee beast.

As always, I look forward to the upcoming year as each year bring new adventures and challenges.

So, as they say in my countries, "L'Chaim" and "Slainte"
