A series of unfortunate events ⇒

You know that Seinfeld episode "Even Steven?" Well, it seems to be true for us! We have been having a string of excellent luck - the baby, the house, the new job, Erin got a raise. Well, the scales are tipping a bit. Most of it is explained in the last entry called "Home Ownership Week One" but I don't think I mentioned that in addition to the ants, the rotting kitchen counter (which, by the way our house inspector is, of course, denying any responsibility for due to the fact that there were cleaning supplies and bags under the counter so he couldn't SEE the black wood by the sink), and soot, our car is also coming of age

....new brakes and a drive belt $1000. New A/C Compressor Clutch $600. Getting stuck behind an accident for an hour the first time I commute to work by car as a treat....priceless!

I just want to add that these complaints are really more in jest! We are very lucky indeed - blessed with excellent health and wonderful friends and family. Some good friends of ours are going through very serious worries at the moment and I realize that our things are mere inconveniences. Don't worry, I do count my blessings every day!
