The Move ⇒

Thursday was a crazy day for Christine. In the morning I helped dismantle the electronics and then I headed off to work and left the preggo to do all the work. The cleaning lady came at 7:30am do to the cleaning, but we sent her off to get a coffee until Christine got things under control. The movers showed up at 9am and were done by 10:30! Just as the movers were finishing, my parents arrived to pick up Christine (I had our only vehicle) and then they all drove to our house to start unpacking. Strangely, the movers did not arrive for over an hour as they got stuck at a weigh station because they were driving a Canadian Tire truck, but weren't representing Canadian Tire. This turned out to be a blessing though, as our appliances got delivered during this break. Also at the house was our contractor who was madly finishing up our main bathroom. He managed to get everything out, the new tub put in, the new drywall put up and laid our fancy, schmancy new tiles.

The afternoon was spent unpacking and putting boxes away. My mother did an awesome job putting our kitchen away; now if I could only find everything!! My dad was chief box mover, opening every box and figuring out what room it went it. We really, really appreciate all the work they did. Thanks guys. By the time I got home it actually looked like a house! Well done everyone!

That evening I got our home theatre system hooked up, our VoIP phone and computer all hooked up. Both were harder than I thought they would be. The home theatre was difficult because I didn't label the receiver wiring, so I forgot which cable went where. The computer was more difficult because I now have two routers on my network, one for wireless and one for our VoIP phone. It took me a while to figure out all the setting and firewalls so that everything could do what it was supposed to.

That was a long day, especially for the wee wif.
