Finally, some decisions ⇒

It turns out that choosing colours for our new place wasn't nearly so fun as it could have been. Up till today, we had been going to Home Depot and been perusing the colour swatches there. The problem is that neither Christine nor I (especially me) have a particularly good eye for determining what colours go good together. We found the plethora of colour choices quite overwhelming in fact and weren't happy with the process.

Then on Thursday, a co-worker recommended Benjamin Moore paints. So I did a quick search and found that there was a store, Coast Decorating Centre (or something like that) just a few blocks away. We went in and discovered a painters Mecca! Not only did they have every colour under the sun, but they also had a lovely lady who helped us pick the right colours. Once we told her our general ideas for each room (red/white for baby's room, green for our room, brown for the dining and who knows what for everything else), she found the actual colours that we like. If you would like to be just like the us, buy Raspberry Truffle (2080) and Ballet White (OC-9) for the baby's room, Nature Lover (CC-726) for the focus wall in the bedroom, Soft Fern (2144-40) for the other bedroom walls and Silken Pine (2144-50) for the trim. All other non-kitchen, non-bathroom walls will be Putnam Ivory (HC-39).

We are leaving the kitchen and bathrooms until we figure out what we are doing with them.

Next up, the appliances.
