Reward Miles help ⇒

I need some advice. I do a lot of travel for work and therefore my credit card gets a fairly decent work out (~4K/month). I current collect Aeroplan miles when I travel on AC or UA (United) and Alaska Points when I travel on Alaska or AA. My credit card collects Air Miles. We use the Air Miles mostly for goods, like movie passes and CDs.

As most of my travel is to the States, I have two questions: 1) Should I stop collecting Alaska miles and switch to American Airlines points so that I can get into the lounges (once I have enough) in the States? 2) Should I switch my CC to either Amex, CIBC VISA, or Royal?

Thoughts?
