What a blockbuster weekend; we saw two movies! Wow, control yourself Erin, don't strain!

Friday night we went out with Colleen and Kenny to see Shrek 2 at Metropolis. Although I had heard great reviews, I wasn't expecting very much. Turns out I was waaaaay off. The movie absolutely hilarious! They don't re-use many jokes, and they have a great new character, Puss 'N Boots, voiced by Antonio Banderas. He is easily the highlight of the movie! Very funny.

The story is all about Shrek visiting Fiona's parents in the kingdom of Far, Far Away. Of course, it does not go well at all. The only predictable part is that everything ends happily ever after.

Next up was Harry Potter & The Prisoner of Uzbekistan. This movie has all of the original cast in it (except of course the now deceased Richard Harris) along with some wonderful additions. Emma Thompson as Prof. Trelawney and Gary Oldman as Sirius Black are perfectly cast. This story is all about Sirius, his escape from Azkaban and how he wants to kill Harry.

I have to say that all of the kids, sure grew up! All of them are much, much taller and filled out. Malfoy was almost unrecognizable, as was Neville. However, they have all grown into their roles as well and seem to really become their characters.

This movie is well worth seeing!
