The owl that digs ⇒
Saturday mornings are a usually a time for relaxing. Today, we did relax but not before performing an alcoholic errand. If you are an enophile who appreciates local wine, you may have heard of Burrowing Owl wines. They are a highly regarded and covetted vineyard. Whenever a wine store has a shipment of Burrowing Owl arrive it invariably sells out in mere hours.
Christine usually doesn't remember which wine she drinks, but over a year ago she had the merlot and it was the best wine she had ever had!
So when we got the email announcing that the Kitsilano Wine Cellar had some bottles for sale starting at 10AM Saturday morning, we set our alarm. We arrived at the store a few minutes before 10 and there were several people already there!! There was a limit of two bottle per person so Christine & I each got in line. We purchased 2 Cabernet Sauvignons and two Pinto Noirs. Apparently the Cab. Sauvs need two more years before we can drink it, but fortunately the Pinot Noirs are drinkable now!
We figured the store sold out of them before noon! I can't wait to try this wine!
