In between our two days at Bumbershoot, we checked out Seattle. That included a stop at the Experience Music Project. What a super cool attraction! There is a whole floor of interactive exhibits. You can learn how to drum, play the guitar, sing and mix. There is a recording booth where you can make your own CD and a high-tech karaoke section where you play with some friends on a stage!
Then, of course, there is the Henrix section. It follows his ever so short life from growing up to his explosion onto the music scene. Did you know that his famous Star Spangled Banner rendition was on the Monday at Woodstock in front of only 30,000 people? He was quite the musician.
The rest of the museum has various seasonal rooms. When we were there it had a guitar room that covered the history of the guitar and to disco rooms. Stayin' alive, stayin' alive, oo, oo, oo, oo, stayin' ALIIIIIIIIIIIVE!! You could easily spend 4 hours in there. I don't know if it is worth it at $20 per person, but we got half off with our Bumbershoot ticket.
Then we wandered around a closing (it was around 5pm) Pike's Market. A cool place with food and fish and crafts that is right on the water. A nice way to spend the afternoon.
