Luck O’ The Irish ⇒

To celebrate Doug's birthday, we went down to the Irish Heather, possibly the best Irish bar/restaurant in town. They are the second largest seller of Guiness in BC and have won awards for the best "pour" of that heavenly nectar. They also happen to have probably the best Scotch menu I have ever seen!

We had booked the back room, the Shebeen, to best experience the Irish Heather. Of course the first drink we, Doug, Kam, Kenny, Greg and I, had was a pint of Guinness. Man, was it ever good!! To help with digestion, I ordered a wee dram o' Bowmore 17. Nice Scotch...smooth with very little after taste. A nice mild, easy sipping drink. By the time I got around to my second Guinness, I wasn't really in the state to fully appreciate a great Scotch, so I order a nice, middle of the road one, Oban 14. A great way to end the evening.

Our final stop was Benny's Bagels on West Broadway. They are open 24 hours and have some great bagel concoctions. I had a delicious herb bagel with turkey, peppers, tomato and melted Brie cheese....yummy.

A great time was had by all!
