Lacrosse? ⇒

We had planned to spend a quiet evening together, but at 6 PM Scotty phoned me and asked if I would like to go to a Vancouver Ravens game. As I had never seen a lacrosse game before, I went. I was expecting something along the lines of a Giants game. Turns out that about 10,000 people show up for a Ravens game! The other huge difference is that the fans are IN TO IT! Tons of noise and cheering and shirt waving. There are cheerleaders and women in a hot-tub....great fun!

I didn't quite know what to expect in terms of the game, but I was pleasantly surprised. It is a very fast paced game, with great hitting, great passing, pretty goals and even a good fight! Turns out that the goalies do actually stop the ball sometimes! To top it all off, we won!

Then Phillip, Scotty and I continued on to Doolin's (new Irish bar at Granville and Nelson, where Babalu's used to be). It is alright...not a lot of character, but that may develop.

And now, to bed!
