That’ll be $100 please! ⇒

A few days ago a notice went up at my apartment block that stated there will be some filming done and therefore there will be no parking on the south side of the 3300 block from Friday, Nov. 22nd to Tuesday, Nov. 26th. I think, "Nice of them to post this note."

Last night when I arrive home from work, that fact has completely slipped my mind. I also don't see any no parking signs. So I park on the south side of the 3300 block.

You guessed it, this morning when I go to get into my car, I discover a huge movie trailer right where my car was. I. was. towed. So, first I call the lovely person listed on the notice to find out where they towed my car. Then Black Top Cabs was kind enough to pick me up and drive me to Buster's, the city's impound lot. After my $10 cab ride, I fork over $40 to retreive my vehicle.

Turns out the ticket will cost me another $40! But, there is some good news....they wrote the ticket wrong! On the ticket it says that the car was in the 3200 block of West 4th. There are no parking restrictions in the 3200 of West 4th! Why then, did they tow my car?

I am going to go fight this ticket next week and argue that I am owed my cab fare, the fee to Buster's and I won't pay the ticket. Core, maybe I should get the J-manator involved in this high-profile case?
