As I am looking for some good design ideas, I found some nice sites. I really like the music thing from Joe's site and the I like the design of Quillo's site. Ideas, ideas, ideas.

Things I am going to do for sure:

grab some polling software so that I can get your opinions.
change the background colour. White is too bright.
move the blog things to the right-hand side
simplify site
