Along for the Ride

Today Elise is a fairy with a pet unicorn on a leash and I am afraid of it but don’t worry, I can pet it because she holds it tightly so she won’t jump up. Yesterday she was a puppy called Scamp and Daniella was a puppy called Angel. Yesterday Daniella was a broomstick and [...]

Tucking in for Girls Night

Long time no blog. Terrible for someone who’s supposed to be a writer! I was going to post a FB status update but decided to do this instead. The girls and I have a new tradition. When Erin is out for the evening we have a girls night. We watch a movie while we are [...]

What? How frustrating

Elise is having trouble hearing. It seems like it is just a problem with wax buildup (our Doctor couldn’t even see her inner ear) and hopefully when we get the wax looked after her hearing will be fine. Don’t get me wrong, I feel for her but it is SO FRUSTRATING constantly hearing “What?” all [...]

Sticker Charts Galore

Trying to get Daniella to try toilet training and she is just not interested. So, I am not going to push it but she wants a Plum Pudding figurine so she has been willing to at least sit on the potty in exchange for a sticker. She needs 10 stickers. Elise wanted to get in [...]

Prime Christmas Age

I am enjoying the Christmas season and I hope you are too! Elise and Daniella are at the prime age for Christmas – they don’t ask for much, they are all about Santa and we are enjoying the activities on the Advent Calendar I made. Daniella may be catching on though as every time she [...]

Where the watermelons grow

Elise’s preschool had a field trip to the local grocery store today. We were exploring the produce section and the dietician who was conducting our tour was talking about where different fruits and veggies are grown. She asked “where do watermelons grow?” and Elise said frankly, “Down by the bay.” I was so proud!!

A world of words

Just a short post to record that Elise read her first sentences today. The book was called “Fat Cat.” She has been sounding out words lately and even writing simple words on her magnadoodle. She plays a couple of computer games that involve completing words by “finding the letter that sounds like __” and never [...]

Four on the Floor

Happy 4th birthday to my dear daughter. I asked Elise this morning what her favourite part of being three was and she said “going to preschool.” Just the fact that she said that will tell you how much she has changed since her birthday last year. I am sure I wrote about the separation anxiety [...]

Dare I say it?

People who know us well know that Elise has had a heck of a time learning to poop on the toilet. She never has accidents and has been going to get her own pull up to do her business in. A few weeks ago, I noticed that we had only 5 pull ups left on [...]

Seahorse Rectangle

Elise has been telling everyone she is having a baby. “When I get bigger my tummy will be REALLY big and my baby will come out.” When asked what she will name the baby without a moment’s hesitation she replied “Seahorse Rectangle.”
