Metasoft, Here I Come
I am extremely proud to announce that as of August 1st, 2006 I am Metasoft's newest Sales Manager! Finally, I get into sales!! W00t!!
As you know, I have been trying to break into sales for quite some time. My problem has been that on paper, I don't qualify for many sales positions. However, I always knew that if they met me, they would realize that I absolutely could do the job. To combat that, I was looking for a Sales Engineer position that would transition into sales.
I saw the posting for a Sales Engineer at Hays and I went in to meet with the recruiter. And for the first time I actually felt that this recruiter could help me find a job that I liked. He spent quite a bit of time working with me to create a more effective resume and discussing my application. After I convinced him I was perfect for the job, he pitched it to his client (Metasoft) and that turned into a short phone interview with the president, Trevor.
We had a great phone conversation that ended with him inviting me to come in for an interview. Finally, a chance for me to prove myself! Right away, Trevor and I hit it off and I could see that this company would be a good fit for me both career-wise and culturally. I ended up meeting with him, their VP Product Development and one of their sales guys. Everyone there was so excited to be working there and excited about the future. It was quite contagious and a pleasant change.
This job won't require any travel, which is great and they actually fully support me working from home, so that means no commute either!!!
I am very excited about this opportunity and I can't wait to get started!!!
Congratulations!! It must feel good to find something you’ve wanted for so long, something you’re excited about, and the commute? FANTASTIC!!! Way to go!!
Yaay! Kudos to you Erin. I know how extremely challenging and frustrating it can be to know you can do something and have people not jump to hire you because it may not be on your resume. It just goes to show that perservereance is worthwhile. I’m only sorry that this new position does not bring Elise permanently closer to Corbin.
Actually it does! My job will be mostly telephone sales, so I can be located anywhere!!
Another Yaaay!
